Ah, a neighbour, even better. Her sister didn’t act nearly girl-next-door enough, so she was more or less doing her a favour by taking this guy off her hands. "But if I was just passing by, then no. I just came to visit you today, Stefani. I'm sorry I couldn't visit any earlier, but I had a bit of a busy schedule." he said to her, and she smiled then, uncrossing her arms and playing with the collar of her blazer a bit as she looked up at him. Another flirting tactic, one a girl would apply even if she wasn’t aware of it. 80% of women play with their hair or jewellery or clothes while talking to a guy they’re interested in. She was not only being friendly, but happy that he had arrived, and just for her. “So how have you been doing? I do hope I haven't kept you waiting. If I have, again, I apologize." Wow, Stef had nearly snagged quite the gentleman... It had been a while since she’d interacted with one of these types. These types usually entertained her more than regular playboys. One thing was certain, even with his using such polite language; he was into her too. ”Suppose it’s not too unforgiveable to keep a girl waiting every once and a while. ‘Absence makes the heart-‘Well, you know how that saying goes.” she said to him, waving an arm as if brushing off an old, clichéd line, and then blushed a bit more, looking embarrassed to have thought of it, but she tried to keep smiling and laugh it off. Looking to brush past the possible awkward silence she purposefully created, she glanced towards the comfortable cushioned and wicker furniture on the porch and said, ”You know what, it’s nice out, why don’t we hang out here for a bit? You can sit and I can bring you something to drink, what do you feel like? Water, soda, juice?” Now that would be a girl-next-door line, probably if she’d offered him freshly-made lemonade or something. Or, worse, if she’d stopped by his house to ask for a cup of sugar to make lemonade. Andy tried not to laugh at the mental image. While getting him a drink would certainly have him stay longer, she offered this to him for another reason; to keep him out of the house, where they’d be in ear shot of her sister.

Suppose it’s not too unforgiveable to keep a girl waiting every once and a while. ‘Absence makes the heart-‘Well, you know how that saying goes.
Koryu chuckled at that. "True enough," he said, giving a more pleasant smile. For Koryu, there was rarely an awkward situation. He was courteous and calm through all situations, and as such, awkwardness often bounced off of him. He was glad that Stefani was so graceful, though, that she didn't mind him coming so late.
You know what, it’s nice out, why don’t we hang out here for a bit? You can sit and I can bring you something to drink, what do you feel like? Water, soda, juice?
Of course he didn't notice that she wanted to keep him out of her house just yet - But then, who would? He smiled and said, "A coke would be quite nice if you have any." Indeed, Koryu was actually a bit of a caffiene and sugar junkie, in addition to his cigarettes - he never liked coffee so the soft drinks provided good substitutes.
He considered lighting up, but considering it was so close to her home, he chose not to. After all, no need for a house that's not even his to smell like smoke anywhere.
When she went in, he went up onto the porch and took a look at the surrounding neighboring houses from there. Palm Glades... definitely a nice place to live.

"A coke would be quite nice if you have any” the guy told her, and Andy nodded, smiling and gave him a child-like thumbs up as she said, ”Comin’ right up!” and grabbed the mail before going into the house. She then went up the stairs, and into the room she shared with her sister. After all, she’d been waiting for her to bring the paper – would be bad if she came down to see where she’d wandered off to. ”Get the paper?” Stefani asked as she walked in, and in response Andy tossed it over so it hit her lap. She then walked into the room and handed her the Psychology Today magazine, saying, ”This too” Stefnai smiled, excited and said, ”Oh, perfect! This should keep me emmersed for a while.” Just what I was hoping for... Andy though, but she kept quiet. As she went to leave the room, Stef then asked, ”Were you talking to somebody outside?” Uh-oh. However, cool as always, Andy played it off, wearing her usual smile as she looked at her sister and said, ”Mail man. New guy. Younger, hot guy.” and then gave her a wink. Stef immediately sat up a bit and said, ”Hey, you know the rules: Nobody that we could potentially see every day. Alright? Promise?” Andy rolled her eyes, nodded, and said in an annoyed, mimicking voice, ”Yeah, yeah, I know the rules.” And with that, she headed back down the stairs after setting down the Reader’s Digest magazine to prop against her brother’s door. He’d been out with a few friends the night before and was still snoozing. Walking into the kitchen, she pulled out a coke and a diet Sprite out of the fridge, grabbed a few bendy straws out of the drawer and then went back outside after taking a moment to get back into character. ”Here you go. Got you a straw too.” she said with a cute smile. Well, meant for him to think she looked cute. It was just the right amount of sweetness mixed with looking like a good host that would get him to notice the cute factor. Sitting down, she opened up her own drink and put the straw in, taking a quick sip so the straw wouldn’t float up and then set it down on the small wicker table in front of the loveseat. She’d made sure to sit right next to him, still some space in between them, so she could gradually work on filling that space as this went on. Sitting in a very Stefani-like fashion, resting her back against the seat and with her arms folded in her lap, she began speaking to the guy, her body angled towards his in order to create the atmosphere of a private conversation, despite sitting outside on her porch. There was one thing she vaguely remembered when she’d asked about the guy the night Stef had met him, and she couldn’t remember it exactly and needed to know without making it obvious; His name. ”So, I’ve been wondering something since you first introduced yourself; about your name. It’s pretty unusual, right? I was just wondering if there was a story behind it or something.” It had certainly sounded like an unusual name when she first heard it. Then again, she had been drunk. Andy merely hoped that she was shooting in the right direction and hadn’t just given herself away. In her head, she was praying he didn’t have a common name like Bob or Steve or Jimmy...

OOC: Maybe. Would there be time for Koryu to point out that something seems off before she comes out?
IC:
Comin’ right up!
With that, Koryu waited patiently, sitting on the loveseat, just enjoying the weather. It was a warm afternoon, and there was not a cloud in the sky. He could easily see why Stefani wanted to sit outside and enjoy the weather. IT didn't take long before Stefani came back with his drink.
Here you go. Got you a straw too.
Koryu smiled at her. "Ah, thank you so much," he said, taking the coke. He opened it, popped the straw in, and took a drink, savoring the sweet taste as well as the slight sting of the fizz. Soft drinks. They can't be beat. Thankfully, Koryu also kept his teeth in good order. He may have a few bad habits, like smoking and drinking pop, but he had more than enough good habits to cancel it out.
So, I’ve been wondering something since you first introduced yourself; about your name. It’s pretty unusual, right? I was just wondering if there was a story behind it or something.
Well, now that he thought about it... he smiled. "My name... My father was a rather big Journey to the West fan, and often read it, in English, Chinese, and Japanese. My namesake Koryu was the Japanese name of one of the main characters in his childhood - that of the Tang priest, who led the three reformed demons to India in their Journey. He named me the Japanese version by my mother's request. 'Koryu of the River's Flow' was his title, I believe, because of how he was found drifting down a river after his mother left him drifting on a boat to get him away from a murderer that was after her and her husband's life."
Then he realized and rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh, I'm sorry. I have tendency to run off at the mouth. My father's love for mythology and old stories has been given to me, it seems."

Honestly, Andy had only asked the question so she could remember his name. That and because she knew it was something that her sister would ask. But not because she was actually interested in knowing the answer. She didn’t expect Koryu to start droning on like that, going on and on about something in Chinese or Japanese or whatever... was he half Chinese or Japanese? He honestly didn’t look it, not in the slightest. Didn’t mean he wasn’t, but he certainly didn’t look it. He really was a looker though... something about his strong jaw, and those eyes... They’d make her weak in the knees if she actually was her sister. It wasn’t until he started rubbing his neck, looking cute and embarrassed, and spoke again, that she realized she didn’t hear a word he said. "Oh, I'm sorry. I have tendency to run off at the mouth. My father's love for mythology and old stories has been given to me, it seems." Immediately shaking her head, she said, ”Oh, no no, don’t worry about it, it’s fascinating to hear, really.” She remembered hearing him mention something about Japan, and she tried to think of something she could tie in, that might be remotely related, to at least show she was listening a little bit. Also to make his attention drift a little bit, she leaned back a bit, resting an elbow on the back o the loveseat, and resting her head in her hand. ”I don’t really know a lot about Japanese mythology or culture or folktales... The closest thing I’d know about is this Japanese cartoon-ish show me and my sister watched a few years ago. There were these red-headed twin characters in it – she said that the calmer, less stubborn twin reminded her of me.” Maybe bringing up twins of any kind in this conversation wasn’t the smartest thing in the world, but it had been the only link she could think of. And since that cartoon might not have really counted as part of Japanese culture, it allowed her to chuckle a bit, knowing that she clearly didn’t know a lot if that was all she could think of – and she knew that she and her sister looked their best when they were laughing.

OOC: Got it.
IC:
Oh, no no, don’t worry about it, it’s fascinating to hear, really.
Koryu smiled and nodded in appreciation. He was glad that Stefani was patient with him. A few people were irritated he talked about mythology - though quite frankly, they were those with bad attitudes. Most of the people enjoyed knowing where his namesake came from, and found him interesting because of it. Mythology pays off.
I don’t really know a lot about Japanese mythology or culture or folktales... The closest thing I’d know about is this Japanese cartoon-ish show me and my sister watched a few years ago. There were these red-headed twin characters in it – she said that the calmer, less stubborn twin reminded her of me.
He shook his head. "I'm afraid I haven't heard of a story like that," he replied. "But I'm still reading into many myths - the closest I can think of is the blue oni and the red oni, but I doubt you want any more stories in mythology." Indeed, Koryu could tell when a person wasn't interested, and Stefani didn't seem that interested in hearing more about mythology.
But that charming smile, red hair, smooth pale skin... Now that it wasn't dark, or being exposed to the flashing lights of the nightclub, he could see that she was truly beautiful. Her face seemed like it was the type to laugh a lot as well. All in all... she seemed like a very great girl.
"I just want to thank you for taking time out to see me on such short notice, especially such a lovely girl like you." Koryu normally didn't flatter - whatever opinion he gave was genuine, which was way better than flattery. And that was one of the reasons why he was well-liked, and considered a gentleman - he was always truthful, be it in compliments, insults, or other words.

Of course Koryu read too much into what she’d said about the Japanese cartoon she’d seen – it had nothing to do with mythology at all. It had just been this weird cartoon about this group of boys at a private high school, two of them being mischievous twins. But she just nodded at all that he said, and she chuckled a bit, shaking her head slightly when he said that it looked like she didn’t want to hear anymore about mythology. It couldn’t hurt to keep pretending to be interested, especially when it looked like he was going to veer away from the topic fairly soon, and she’d be safe. He then actually surprised her with what he said next, since it didn’t seem like he was the type to begin flirting or anything of the like this early in the game. "I just want to thank you for taking time out to see me on such short notice, especially such a lovely girl like you." On cue, Andy blushed in a very Stefani-esque way, and to really be realistic, she glanced away for about a second and then looked him in the eyes, saying, ”Heh, you make it sound like I’m a therapist with a last-minute opening when you put it like that.” One of Stefani’s initial reactions when she was taken off guard or embarrassed was humour. The second was to pretend she had more confidence than she actually possessed. For somebody playing her that actually had confidence, this was a piece of cake. ”But thank you very much... Compliments will get you anywhere.” she told him, with a slightly nervous giggle after speaking, still looking at him, as if she was trying her very hardest not to break eye contact. Like it was an internal struggle with her will and her nerves. And, maybe only for a moment, she let herself slip and glance towards his lips. They looked fairly soft, not overly rough and chapped like a lot of guys’ lips were. In her head she wondered, as Stefani, what it would take to earn herself a smooch from such a modern-day prince charming.

Heh, you make it sound like I’m a therapist with a last-minute opening when you put it like that. But thank you very much... Compliments will get you anywhere.
Koryu smiled and nodded. Indeed, flattery got one nowhere - mainly because it was fake and forced, and everyone could tell. Koryu never played it like that - he gave genuine compliments, and that little adage that Stefani said was extremely accurate - compliments were much different than flattery, in his opinion. Compliments were genuine, and made a person feel better about themselves.
Then he noticed that despite her shyness, she was looking intently at him... or rather something of his. He couldn't figure out what. She seemed to be pondering something. Koryu could guess that much. It took very little skill to read Stefani's actions (though he hadn't been able to see through her front just yet).
"What are you thinking of, Stefani?" he asked.

he asked her, and Andy blinked, train of mind definitely de-railed. But she pulled it off the same way Stefani would if she was caught spacing out – an unlikely possibility, but she could still take a good guess. ”Ah, s-sorry! I, um, was...” she began, blushing up a storm, no longer leaning back on her hand, and instead sitting straight, her hands back in her lap, fiddling a bit nervously. Smiling nervously, she said, ”It’s kind of embarrassing, actually, sorry if I looked like I was zoning out just then...” So far she was playing it safe, but maybe the added colour to her face would make her look even better in Koryu’s eyes. For the time being, her eyes glanced away from his, deciding she could only direct things so far in one direction. "Was actually thinking about the other night, after we walked out of the club... Ah, s-sorry! I, um, was... It’s kind of embarrassing, actually, sorry if I looked like I was zoning out just then...
Well, it didn't take a genius to see that she was nervous. For what, exactly? What kind of embarrassing thing did she imagine? He didn't know what, nor could he guess. Oh well. But still, that blushing and averting her eyes was... rather cute of her, he had to admit that much. He got an explanation a minute later.
Was actually thinking about the other night, after we walked out of the club... Not sure why, just popped into my head.
He nodded. "Ah, I see," he said understandingly, while still looking at her. In this afternoon light, far better than the night they met, she was really beautiful... and her embarrassment only accentuated things. Unconsciously, he slid a tiny bit closer to her. "I hope you don't mind me saying but... you are rather cute when you're shy."

”Ah, I see.” Koryu said to her, and Andy laughed a bit, and then moved as if she was trying to get her shoulders to lose a bit of tension, like she was trying to relax. Then she noticed Koryu moving to sit a bit closer to her. She looked at him, studying his face, now wondering just what was going through his head, and then he said to her, "I hope you don't mind me saying but... you are rather cute when you're embarrassed.” Andy let herself blush a bit more and she knew that now, for sure, was a moment to try and turn things around. That is, if she wanted to sample those lips of his... Still looking embarrassed and now like she was attempting to be coy, she said to him, ”And I hope you don’t mind me saying, but... you are rather cute.” She couldn’t help but laugh a bit after that, and continued to look Koryu in the eyes. Now that he was a lot closer, she felt like it wouldn’t take a lot more meandering to get things to go the way she wanted them to. Just then, still looking into his eyes, she began, ever so slowly, to lean closer to him. It was annoying to go at such a glacial speed, but by the look of those lips, she guessed that the payoff would be huge. When she was close enough to feel his breath on her skin, one of her usual, victorious smirks slipped out – classic, trademark Andrea. And that’s when she began to close the rest of the gap.

And I hope you don’t mind me saying, but... you are rather cute.
Koryu smiled. Again, not flattery, but a compliment. Well, glad to know that they thought the same about each other. With that, she began leaning towards him, and he leaned towards her. Her own lips looked soft and smooth... to think that he would be kissed by those lips. Well, it would be quite enjoyable and - he noticed the smirk.
Instantly, he brought his hands to her shoulders and gently pushed her away. "No, sorry, something seems... amiss," he said calmly, looking at her intently and considering. When he talked to Stefani that night, she seemed rather gentle and kind - not the type to deceive. That smirk seemed very out of character for that girl he met last night... he knew he might have ruined things, but he might as well check. Maybe he had been fooled.

Andy was so, so close to those Godly-looking lips. If she had it her way, this would only be a small preview to the main event. However, she didn’t even end up getting that far. He suddenly held onto both of her shoulders and pushed her back, and a look of confusion was on her face. "No, sorry, something seems... amiss" And that actually surprised Andrea. She’d done everything right, played out her part perfectly, managed to lure him into a compromising position... And not only did he notice that something was off from when he met her sister, but he wasn’t settling for what was right in front of him either. This had never happened before. Trying to recover, she began to smile again, still looking confused as she said, ”W-whatever do you mean?” Just then, by pure bad luck, came the opening of the front door and an all-too familiar voice. ”Hey, what’s taking you so long- ...Andrea...” Her movements and speech slowed when she caught a glance of Koryu holding onto her sister, and with the two of them sitting so close together on the seat... Her mind hadn’t been on him much since Andy brought him up, yet she still felt a pang of something hit her square in the gut. Andrea stood up then, as if nothing had happened at all. Better yet, she was back to her old self again, currently feeling casual and non-chalant. ’Hey sis. Just chatting with your club buddy out here. Think I’ll go back in though, tear through my new issue of Cosmo.” And with that, she tapped her sister on the shoulder and then walked into the house. Stef continued to stand there, still looking at Koryu, not exactly sure what she should be feeling. It was hard to get mad at him, since they’d only just met, and he hadn’t done a single thing wrong. But her sister had played these games with guys she’d met before. Usually for her own good, proven when they chose Andy over Stef, but it still got to her anyway. ”Hey Koryu... what’re you doing here?” Stef asked hesitantly, crossing her arms in front of her chest.

W-whatever do you mean?
Koryu wasn't sure how to put it into words. It was just... something he felt. Or noticed, right after that smirk. IT just didn't feel like Stefani. Sure, he may have only met her for a little bit at the club, but... his intuition was telling him that it was wrong. And although he normally relied on logic, the times he listened to his intuition never failed him. Just then... a voice called from the door and -
Hey, what’s taking you so long- ...Andrea...
His eyes widened as he looked between Andrea and Stefani. Wait, wait, wait... what the devil?! Twins?!? This was utterly unexpected. So the girl he was talking to all this time was Stefani's twin sister?! Okay, this... This was unexpected in every manner and degree. He barely heard as Andrea went back into the house, now with a complete change in attitude. Then he knew he would have to explain himself, big time.
Hey Koryu... what’re you doing here?
"Oh, um, well..." He stood up, looking rather nervous and red. "Erm, I came to see you, really. I've just been busy so I couldn't come earlier and... I met your twin sister and I thought that was you... and... Stefani, I'm really sorry. I swear, nothing happened between us - and I honestly thought that your sister was you, and I apologize."

Koryu said, looking incredibly nervous. That’s how most guys looked when they realized that Andy and Stef were twin sisters. It literally took the breath out of some people, and it took a while for them to recover. Given that she was used to this kind of thing, she was patient and waited for him to give a more intelligible response. "Erm, I came to see you, really. I've just been busy so I couldn't come earlier and... I met your twin sister and I thought that was you... and... Stefani, I'm really sorry. I swear, nothing happened between us - and I honestly thought that your sister was you, and I apologize." Here, Stefani crawled a bit into her theoretical turtle shell a bit. When one got used to hearing things along these lines, they built up a large amount of defences. Though one thing confused her in this particular scenario. ”Why would it matter to me if anything happened between you two?” she asked him. After all, they had been friendly that night at the club, and he might’ve asked for her number, but nothing romantic had been said between them the entire night. Even if she did find herself looking at him and remembering just how attractive he looked both in the dark that night among his smoke and now, out in the fresh air, it was nothing that he knew anything about. ”Look, it’s fine, don’t worry about it. You didn’t know we were twins, and my sister does this sometimes... Nothing you did was wrong.” And, after saying that, she wasn’t exactly sure where she wanted to go from here. After all, even if she’d arrived there before anything happened, she was sure that given a bit more time she would’ve walked in on a lot worse than him holding her by the shoulders. ”It’s fine, really.” she told him, turtle shell up, a polite smile on her face.
