likes Being himself even if he is a jerk, always contemplating within his thoughts, reading books (all kinds), drinking, just chilling and lounging around
dislikes Stuck-up people (or just people in general), people hurting others for enjoyment (physical or emotionally), when the person who committed an act of injustice gets away, people trying to mess with his head, being proven wrong when he could've sworn he was right.
weaknesses Accepting Help, Admitting his defeats and faults, personal issues with his family, stubborn, easily enraged, looks down on others
strengthsA sort of blurred sense of justice, he tends to blur the boundary line between the two as a way to fit in the way he goes about doing things. Is a lot smarter than he lets on, but he likes letting others think lower of him. It gives him the upper hand if he ever would need it. He shows a level head, and leadership qualities, if he HAD to lead a group. He has a kind heart, granted it does get snuffed out by his overwhelming jackassery, but he does show kindness in his own way.
fears letting someone in and them tearing his kindness to shreds...
secrets He yearns to find someone who would accept as he is, but also to truly just belong amongst people.
key traitsStoic Vayne puts up a cold exterior as a way to ward off people. He would prefer it if others would be willing to look deeper in him than for him to look for other good people.
Calculative Mind Vayne tends to look at a situation from all kinds of angles before possibilities before taking action.
Aggressive Because of his childhood and upbringing, Vayne has developed a bit of an anger problem. He's very aggressive, and at times completely overwhelming.
Riddle me this (Sarcastic) Vayne, whenever he does speak, will occasionally speak very sarcastically. It is only used when he means to stress out a point within the conversation.
Lying What is there to be said? The guy can lie. With a background like his lying becomes too natural.

history
From birth Vayne had been rejected by his mother. It probably wouldn't been a horrid thing, if it wasn't for the fact that his mother was...well for lack of a better term, she was a whore. Alyssa Carrington spent most of her time strung out on drugs and alcohol, and nothing more than a constant string of lovers and affairs. Having children was the least of her concerns because once she gave birth to them she would just leave them on the doorstep of churches, homes, or hospitals. Vayne was left at the hospital which in response filed him into the system for homeless children. He bounced around from foster home to foster home, and each one was even sleazier than the last.
Growing up within this kind of life lead Vayne down a very dangerous road. As a child he was causing problems at home and in school. He had a long record of stealing, fighting, and vandalizing. When things just kept getting worse, he just got sent elsewhere. It wasn't till he grew up and started actually attending classes highschool that he realized he needed to change. However, it was easier said than done. At the age of sixteen his powers started to surface. It wasn't anything too big, just a few things here and there with shadows that caught his eye, but he just dismissed it and thought his mind was just tired. It wasn't till his junior year in Highschool that there was a dramatic incident with his powers.
He was in his last foster home, and so far things were fine. He was given to a nice middle class couple, who had a lot of love to give and no children to give it to. Vayne was a bit cold to them at first, but after some time, when he realized that they truly cared for his well being, was when he started to show some kindness back to them. It was a rough start, but eventually Vayne accepted them as the parents he never had. It was because of his bond with them, that made the incident so much worse. Vayne had spent a few hours at the neighborhood library doing some studying when it happened. While Vayne wasn't home, his foster parents were sitting in the living room watching TV, when some burglars broke in. They weren't ready for anything, so the burglars gained the upper hand and tied them up.
When Vayne got home he found the house ransacked, but what was worse, was that he found his foster family dead. Apparently his foster father managed to break free from his restraints and struggled against the burglars. In the midst of the commotion the foster father knocked off the guy's mask. It was then that the fate of the family was sealed. To minimize the chances of being caught by the police, they shot both of the foster parents to keep them quiet. The police arrived on scene shortly after Vayne's arrival and questioned him. Vayne didn't have much information for the police, but then again he was in a state of shock. He couldn't handle the loss of the only parents he ever had.
It was within this lost state that he overheard one of the cops saying that it was just another robbery in a string of thefts. Vayne then decided to do a bit of investigating on his own. Turns out that within his neighborhood was a gang that was starting to rise up in power. It made new members of its gang initiate by robbing houses. Now, since Vayne was already blinded by vengeance it was quite obvious what he was going to do. He did some digging into the gang and found their local hangout, went there and took matters into his own hands. Things escalated to violence very quickly...and his powers decided to take a sudden growth spurt. Using the shadows as his own force and weapon, he crushed his opponents (literately). A few of the surviving members couldn't tell what was going on, but they mentioned that some sort of force was grasping onto parts of their bodies and just squeezing tightly, or smacking them around senselessly.
The true story was never leaked out to the public, but instead was covered up. Vayne was then shipped off to the island, and it was here he continued his studies, but he never lowered his defenses again. He felt guilty for his foster family's death...he felt like if he was there he could've saved them, but he didn't. The guilt only ate at his soul and over time his outer demeanor started to show how dark his soul had become. He was negative, sarcastic, blunt...just an all around world class jackass, but again it is only a means of pushing others away. He doesn't want anyone getting to close to him again, because he feels as if he would poison them, and somehow in a way affect their lives negatively.

This is a post I did as Noctis Lucis Caelum on a website I co-admin for. Uhh enjoy?
Nightfall had fallen over the city, and with it, the busy streets and highways of the metropolitan had quieted down to nothing more than a dull roar. However, now everything int he city slept during the dark hours of the day. While most of the city slept, there were a few who watched over its borders. In the cover of night, the city's security squadron would comb the streets to make sure nothing would disturb the peace that the Caelum family has tried so hard to keep. The Caelums ruled over one of the last dynasties in the world, but also the kingdom was charged with the task of guarding the crystal, which according to legend was given to them by the Goddess of Time Etro.
Ever since that fateful day, each member of the Caelum family was imbued with special powers granted only by the crystal to its guardians, and it has fallen to the men of the household with the task to rule over the kingdom, and watch over Etro's crystal. Noctis was the only son of King Caelum, and the king thought that night patrol would be an easy way for Noctis to slowly ease into his duties as the Prince of the Caelum family. Noctis was standing in the control room of the security officer's headquarters. His arms crossed, as his blue eyes stared into the many monitors in front of him.
Each monitor show the video footage from camera's all over the city. Each monitor would rotate between a certain order of angles, and eventually Noctis would've seen every possible angle of the city from these monitors. The black haired Prince sighed quietly to himself as he rubbed the back of his neck with his right hand as while he used his left hand to pull out a comm device. He placed the comm near his mouth and flipped a switch before saying into it, "Now, I would like the captains of each patrol to call in numerical order and give a report as to what they've seen so far."
Noctis flipped the switch to cut off his transmission, and as soon as he did, the captains started patching in and giving their report of their patrol. It took a few minutes for each captain to do so, but when it was over, Noctis nodded his head as he flipped the switch and said, "Alright, for the first shift of the night watch i want the odd squadron numbers to go first, and to switch off with the even squads, after three hours." With that, Noctis's part of the patrol was over, and he decided to head back to the mansion to call it a night.
The trip from the command center to the mansion was about half an hour, and when Noctis arrived home, he didn't even go straight to bed. Instead the young man headed down a different hallway, except this one lead to the throne room. In the middle of the room sat a single throne, carved out of black marble, this seat belonged to none other than the King Caelum himself. Noctis walked around his father's chair once before he raised his right hand up to rest against one of the armrests. Noctis knew that someday he would have to take this chair as his own, but what was worrying the young prince was simple. Would he be a great leader like his father? It was a constant fear in the back of Noctis's mind, and as he grew older and the time for his ascension came closer, it was all he could think about.
A sigh escaped his lips as Noctis averted his gaze from the chair up towards the ceiling and there it was. High above the throne was Etro's crystal. It was illuminated with a blueish glow which mimicked that of a full moon on a clear night. Noctis stared into the crystal and after a moment, a simple plea was all he said, "Etro...grant me the strength to fill my father's chair when the time comes..." He closed his eyes and offered a moment of silence to his prayer before he straightened up and turned away from the throne. He was about to head to his room for the night when something suddenly came over him.
Images started to flash before his eyes and at first they were nothing, but big blurs and shadows. Yet, when he focused his mind, he was able to make out the faint outline of a fountain and a statue of his father. Noctis shook his mind free of the images, and knew exactly what he had seen. It was the fountain in the front lawn of the Caelum manor. Noctis quickly rushed out of the throne room, down the hall from which he came, and out the front doors of the mansion. When he pushed open the doors a bright light broke through the night, and blinded the young man.
Noctis raised an arm to shield his eyes, and as the light dimmed down, Noctis stared down at the lawn to where the fountain was. There, out in the middle of his family's estate, was a woman wearing a dress, and if he didn't know any better...he could have sworn she was waiting for him. There was something about this woman...Noctis couldn't quite figure it out himself, but whatever it was, his gut was telling him she didn't mean him any harm. He took a moment to gather his bearings before Noctis trekked over to the fountain and stood before the woman and asked, "What are you doing on my family's estate?"
