cashile island is a made up island, yes, but there is a backstory to the location. a tiny volcanic island formed about halfway in between california and hawaii. this island was only about twenty square miles, not a perfect square or circle, but roughly twenty square miles. over the years, palm trees and a wooded area moved in, brought in by wind and tides simply by luck. it stayed uninhabited for centuries, meanwhile the hawaiian islands were being settled and civilised. nothing has ever happened to the island until now. it was too random to really inhabit, at the time. . .
now, in 2000, they began to get this idea, send all of the people with powers somewhere where they weren't around the general public. someone tosses out the idea of this island, still too awkwardly placed to really serve much of a purpose. they began construction almost immediately. now, they have built an island to being sixty square miles, that is smaller than the smallest of hawaiian islands by ten miles. the original part of the island features tall cliffs that crash into the sea, sloping hills, woods, fresh-water streams. . . the new part of the island is a work of scientific genius that no one will ever know about. in all, the island is still being developed, but for the time being, most of it is uninhabited, giving people places to explore and not making them feel quite as trapped.
weather: for the weather, they share similar weather to kahului, hawaii. cool nights, hot days. they do get hit by hurricanes, but they are uncommon. earthquakes are more of a threat.
size: sixty square miles. west end has woods leading out onto white sands, part of the natural island. south end is the more populated, city part of the island. this is where you will find the actual city, the main stretch of beaches, surfing, the whole nine yards. the east edge is flatlands, beaches, and the remaining part of the city. and to the north, are cliffs, rocks out in the ocean, great surfing for the adventurous spirit, and some homes for the more reclusive souls.
see the octopus? his name is cash, he is our new mascot, and he marks the rough location of our wonderful island.
