Relaxed ;; As befitting his nickname, Hayate is quite laid-back about things. Nothing greatly concerns him or makes him angry. At least, most things don't. Most things for him just seem to work out.
Intelligent ;; Hayate may be a rock star and a playboy, but he's not stupid in any sense. Often, he can afford to be relaxed as stated because things have already worked themselves out, either by his hand or by other indirect mehtods.
Charmer ;; It's rare to see this guy without a girl or two hanging off him. He regularly sleeps with girls quite a bit.
Honorable ;; Despite living the high life, he retains a huge sense of honor. When he sleeps with girls, he never uses his reputation as leverage and only relies on his charm. Hayate Chan was born to his parents in Japan. He was an ordinary young man... if it wasn't for his family. His father is the head of the Japanese branch of a worldwide underground organization. An organization that deals with corrupt governments, helping people from the shadows, and basically stealing the rich and giving to the poor. This organization of shadows is quite popular with ordinary people, and as such has been in existance since centuries ago. Hayate's father is actually the brother of the current head of the organization.
He was sent to private schools and given tutors, and excelled. He worked hard to take over his father's position, but found that he delighted in music more. Although his parents were initially reluctant, he eventually became a musician and rock star with their blessing at the surprisingly young age of 13. It provided a dual purpose - it allowed the organization to gain more popularity via indirect means, and it was another good source of revenue (the organization never touches Hayate's money, it's he who sends it over to them voluntarily).
His powers began showing at the age of 14, when he accidentally nearly blew his father out a window. This kind of incident is rarely isolated - there have been quite a few cases in the organization where children began exhibiting superhuman abilities. His powers were kept secret and he was strictly trained in the shadows to control, then hone his powers just in case. For further training, he was soon sent to this island, known as the gathering place for all these 'abnormals'. He still retains his career but... now he lives a dual life.
And frankly, he wouldn't have it any other way.

Matthias realized that it had four other heads to look out at - and one of the swept him right off the main head. He didn't feel any pain, so his senses weren't disoriented, as his main AI was kept intact as well. Nevertheless, that was a hard blow.
Status report.

Side armor dented - two inches. Severity level: Minor. Proceeding with repairs.
Having a durasteel exoskeleton definitely helped matters. He right himself and saw that the King was merely trying now to push Typhon back into the pit from whence it came. Well, makes sense. If they couldn't kill it, they might as well make it harmless. Unfortunately, Typhon didn't like that and began raining down fireballs.
One of the fireballs was headed straight for Matthias and it looked like it was going to be a direct hit - until Typhon made the mistake of lunging at him with one of its heads. Using the head as a foothold, he propelled himself, helped by his rocket boots, toward the stomach.
Suddenly, Matthias sped up and was cloaked in black flames tinged with red. Like a meteor, he shot straight into Typhon's stomach, shoving it back further. Launching himself off Typhon, he aimed his arm cannon and fired two blasts - one a charged energy blast from his cannon, the other a gigantic fireball of the same color scheme as the flames that wrapped around him earlier.
Typhon was now teetering at the edge of the abyss. It just needed one more good push...
